AAFES and Resolute Partners connect Military Families
on Christmas with Free Internet Service.
Dallas and Southington, December 15th, 2008 -- There is no place like home during the holidays and for
U.S. Troops stationed in Iraq and Kuwait who can’t be there this year, the Army & Air Force Exchange
Service (AAFES) and Internet service provider, Resolute Partners are teaming to provide free Internet
access on Christmas Day.
“We know how important it is for military families to stay connected, especially during the holidays, and
we’re glad to make this free service available to troops serving in Iraq and Kuwait,” said Ken Moon, Vice
President of AAFES telecommunications division.
Access to email and web chat will be provided through the 11 Internet Cafes located in Iraq and Kuwait
known as CZee CyberZones with more than 500 computer terminals. Each Internet Cafe features dozens
of PC’s with web browsers, web cams and even on-line games. The cafes are similar to those the troops
are familiar with from their bases back home, and provide a much-appreciated link with home when they
arrive ‘downrange.’
Normally, there is a per minute charge for internet usage at CZee CyberZone Internet Cafes. For this
holiday event, a special access code will be posted in the internet cafes allowing free access for the
24-hour period starting Christmas morning.
Michael Blanco, CEO of Resolute Partners, said, “We are happy to partner with AAFES to offer this
gesture of thanks to our customers for their service to our country. And we’d also like to wish everyone
serving in Iraq and Kuwait a happy holiday and a safe return home.”
